Tonight we went to Hordings Hide out right down the road from North Plains to go fishing. We got a late start, but it was perfect!! A big high light for osian was seeing the fish jump out of the water. It was a fun day of learning for us all.. Mainly for O and I.
We learned you should...
1. Go on a cool overcast day
2. Fish later in the day
3. Have the right bate (we were catching them like crazy and the people next to us weren't catching any)
4. Not have to bring repellent because the fish eat the misquotes
5. Not cut past the butt hole when gutting the fish
6. Not cut the tail off because the tail is like a handle to pull out bones
7. Fry the fish on Medium... They cook fast
8. Pull from the tail and fins and the bones come right out
9. Take gold fish crackers to entertain ourselves while waiting for a fish.
10. Not fish right below a play structure (we moved because all O wanted to do was play)
11. Have all the gear ready to go (especially the fishing poles) because 3 year olds don't have a long attention span.
12. Catch fish as fast as you can to make the trip fun for 3 year old boys!
That was a fun field learning trip!! If you are ever in the mood for a Frisbee golf trip, camping trip or a fun place to take pictures of Peacocks (they have white ones too) Hordings Hide out is your place!! Thank the Lord for this awesome family time today!!
